Ngurraga school accepts enrolment of students between the age of five and eighteen years. Eligibility for enrolment is determined by an educational psychology assessment which measures a student’s IQ. Ngurraga offers We are a ‘special developmental school’ for children whose IQ score is 70 or below. If you need support with completing your assessments, we can also provide assistance in this area.
Our staff have a wide range of specialised training which includes Key Word Sign, Team Teach, PEG feeding, emergency epilepsy medication administration, positive behaviour support and functional behaviour analysis amongst many others.
Class sizes vary between six and ten students in the Primary Learning Area and ten to twelve students in the Secondary Learning Area. Each class has one teacher as well as education support staff who work with all the students. Additional support is provided where required.
Our maximum enrolment number is 168 and this will build over the first few years of operation. Enrolments are determined by meeting the requirements and a priority placement system, based on our enrolment policy. This policy is available on this website.
